Telecom is increasingly becoming a ubiquitous wireless world where bandwidth intensive data traffic driven by gadgets supplying a convergence of voice, data and video streaming has become a daily reality. With the immensely successful introduction of Apple’s iPhone, RIM’s Blackberry and now Goggle’s recent unveiling of its new web-enabled “smart phone” Nexus One, it is within this context that the migration to the next generation of services will require an infrastructure overhaul, leading to 3G and eventually 4G or LTE deployment. SDP recognizes this transition and the potential opportunities in the massive deployments of base stations, along with the IP-centric radio backbone links required to support the new paradigm shift of the converging services.
